Objective: 

This course will enable students to learn content management tool, which helps in developing websites in project/internship, and enhance their presentation and communication skills.

  1. Demonstrate the skills to create and manage websites using Content Management Tool such Joomla or WordPress.
  2. Design, develop and create live professional websites as per the principles of effective web page designing and technical knowledge learned during the course.
  3. Create professional animated movies and artwork for websites complying industry standards.
  4. Develop skills in Project Report Writing and giving presentation.
  5. Develop team building, coordination, ethics, presentation and lifelong learning skills
  6. Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Demonstrations, Group activities, Teaching using advanced IT audio-video tools.

One Annual Presentation, File/Seminar/Reports etc.

 

 

 

Continuous Assessment (CA) of the students will be based on test conducted as per the contents mentioned below:

 

  • Introduction to content management tools like drupal, joomla, wordpress, Working and importance of content management tools.
  • Introduction to Drupal: Download and install, Drupal Content: Blocks, Modules, Panels and Views, Architect the website. Site building without programming.
  • Creating and Managing Drupal Site Content: create, edit and manage an ongoing flow of content, from draft form to archived pages, using search capabilities in website, build new blocks from scratch, integrate blocks, reassign, reconfigure and deactivate blocks according to the changing needs of your website.HTML & CSS in Drupal.
  • Growing and managing users & modules in Drupal Site: Create users and manage user roles and accounts. Create, test and configure Drupal modules. Set permissions on modules; limit the use of certain features.
  • Customizing Your Site with Themes: find, install, modify and apply a Drupal theme, theme certain elements of a site, such as the footer or individual nodes and blocks, Use a branded theme with a site name and logo, employ theming tools to build and manage themes more efficiently
  • Drupal Site Administration: back up a Drupal site with a minimum of repetitive effort, understand how to review log files, manage user account requests and check for site content updates

OR

  • Introduction to Wordpress, Downloading Wordpress, getting started with Wordpress,
  • Terminologies in wordpress- Posts, Pages, Widgets, Plugins, Menus.
  • Installing Themes
  • Installing plugins
  • Making a sample Shopping site with wordpress

 

At the end, students will undergo training of 150 hrs in designing a real life web site, either in-house or external. This will help them in understanding the existing working environment and acquire an in-depth technical knowledge of the domain.

The students shall prepare a report on the work done. The student will be required to get the certificate from the concerned organization signed by the project guide, which has to be put in the report.
